Wilmington, NC – In honor of National Philanthropy Day, the Cape Fear Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals is hosting the 2019 National Philanthropy Day Awards on Wednesday, November 13th at 8:00 am at Hotel Ballast. This breakfast event honors local businesses, organizations, and individuals who have made an impact in the community through their philanthropic efforts.
AFP is actively seeking nominations from the public for these honors. Nominations forms and more information is available at capefeargives.org.
Recipients of 2018 awards include: Philanthropist of the Year – Joe and Whitney Finley; Fundraising Executive of the Year – JC Lyle; Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser(s) – Meg Caswell and Liz Carroll; Outstanding Student in Philanthropy – Vincent Walsh; Outstanding Fundraising Board of Directors –
Lakeside Partners; Outstanding Philanthropic Organization – Food Lion.
National Philanthropy Day began in 1986 and has since been adopted by state and local AFP chapters around the country to recognize the innovative individuals and organizations that have strengthened their communities. Nominations for each award category are open to all community members except Fundraising Executive who must be an AFP member.
