This month’s Women in Business Spotlight is Alexis Herndon, Account Executive with A&I Fire and Water Restoration.

Alexis has been serving the Brunswick County community for nearly a year, helping homeowners and businesses navigate the unexpected when fire, water, or storm damage occurs. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Management and enjoys building meaningful relationships while supporting clients through challenging situations.

Outside of work, Alexis enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, hanging out with her puppy, Gunner, and working in her garden.

We’re grateful to have Alexis as part of our Women in Business community and look forward to watching her continue to make a positive impact throughout Brunswick County.

The 45th Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival returns to Ocean Isle Beach, October 16–18, 2026, for another unforgettable weekend of live music, delicious food, shopping, family activities, and community fun. The weekend kicks off with Community Night on Friday, October 16, from 6:00–8:00 PM, featuring live music by The Sea Cruz Band.

As we prepare for one of Brunswick County’s largest annual events, there are several ways to get involved. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help throughout the festival, and businesses are invited to become Banner Sponsors, giving their brand high-visibility exposure to thousands of festival attendees while supporting this long-standing community tradition.

Brunsco Classic Putting Challenge Raffle

The Brunsco Classic Golf Tournament is right around the corner, and we’re excited to bring back one of last year’s most popular attractions: the Putting Challenge.

Golfers will have the opportunity to test their putting skills for just $5 per putt, with unlimited chances to win exciting raffle prizes valued at $75 or more. It was a huge hit last year, and we’re looking forward to making it even bigger this year.

To help make the Putting Challenge a success, we’re currently seeking raffle prize donations from our members and community partners. Suggested items include:

• Bottles of bourbon
• Golf rangefinders
• Golf accessories and equipment
• Gift cards
• Experience packages

As AVP/Branch Manager at CCNB, Coastal Carolina National Bank in Ocean Isle Beach, Elizabeth is dedicated to building strong relationships and helping individuals, families, and businesses reach their financial goals. This month’s Ambassador Spotlight shines on Regina Lowry with Autumn Care of Shallotte.

For nearly 30 years, Regina has served as Life Enrichment Director at Autumn Care of Shallotte, dedicating her time to improving lives and creating meaningful connections within the community. She has also been a proud Brunswick County Chamber Ambassador for more than 16 years, always showing up to support local businesses, welcome new members, and give back to the community she loves.

Her kindness, dedication, and passion for helping others make her such a valued part of our Ambassador team and the Brunswick County community.

Membership Extravaganza

The Membership Extravaganza is returning to the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce on June 16, and this year’s event will also serve as a celebration of the Chamber’s 50th Anniversary.

The event will take place from 12:00–3:00 PM at the Chamber office, located at 112 Pine Street in Shallotte. Ribbon cuttings will be held from 12:00–1:00 PM, followed by a Member Drop-In & Networking event from 1:00–3:00 PM.

June is off to a great start, and we have several opportunities this week to connect, learn, and spend time with fellow members of our Chamber community.

Join us Tuesday, June 2 from 8:30–9:30 AM for our Ambassador Meeting as we welcome new members, strengthen relationships, and continue supporting the businesses that make Brunswick County such a great place to live and work. Later that afternoon, from 3:00–4:00 PM, we’re changing things up for Women in Business with a casual drop-in gathering at The Pour House in Shallotte. Chamber members and non-members alike are invited to stop by, make new connections, and enjoy an afternoon of conversation and community.

Then on Thursday, June 4 from 8:00–9:00 AM, start your day with PERKS at Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation. We’re looking forward to hearing from this month’s presenting speaker, Evan Cutler with EA Buck Financial, while enjoying great networking, coffee, and conversation with fellow members.

We hope to see you at one or more of these events as we continue building connections and supporting one another throughout Brunswick County.
