Ocean Isle Beach, NC – At 6:00 PM on June 4th, join Brett Riggs for our Sand Bar Lecture Series as he presents the program King Rice of the Coastal Carolinas at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. Mr. Riggs’ presentation will explore how plantation agriculture shaped the people, society, landscape, and historical development of the Carolinas.
Brett Riggs is a native of Southeastern North Carolina and currently lives in Shallotte. He is a local historian and librarian, and all around interesting guy. With two boys and a love for storytelling, sit back and enjoy your evening while Mr. Riggs points out the humor in history.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Admission to the museum is free for members, active duty military and disabled veterans plus up to one guest, must include military ID cardholder. Non-member all-day admission is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors, $7.50 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
