Ocean Isle Beach, NC – The Museum of Coastal Carolina continues its popular Sandbar Lecture Series at 6:00 PM on December 3 with a program called Online Safety – Can It Be So? featuring Doug Fritchey and Ronnie Bryant. Doug Fritchey and Ronnie Bryant have a combined 34 years of experience in computers, servers, networks, and general technology. Both currently work in the Information Technology department of Brunswick Community College in Bolivia, NC.
In their program, Fritchey and Bryant will delve into the safety of using phones and computers online and what to do — and what not to do — when using cell phones. They will answer questions such as: Should I open this email? Should I click on this link or advertisement? How should I use social media? What should I do if I feel I am caught in a scam cell phone call? They will also be available to answer questions from the audience.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The museum is currently open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through December 28 (closed November 28). Admission to the museum is free for members.
Admission is free for active duty military and disabled veterans plus up to one guest (must include military ID cardholder). Non-member all-day admission is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors (62+), $7.50 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
