Sunset Beach, NC – Ingram Planetarium has a full calendar of events planned for this fall. From September 5 to December 28, the planetarium will be open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday;
closed on November 28. Visit the planetarium’s immersive Sky Theater and Science Hall to experience the night sky and the sciences or catch a sensory-rich laser show after dark.

September – Accidental Astronaut (Sat. only, 11:00); The Sky Tonight (12:00); Earth, Moon, and Sun (1:00); Dynamic Earth (2:00); Two Small Pieces of Glass (3:00).
October – Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea (Sat. only, 11:00); The Sky Tonight (12:00); Accidental Astronaut (1:00); NEW! Cosmic Colors (2:00); Tales of the Maya Skies (3:00).
November 1-23 – Accidental Astronaut (Sat. only, 11:00); The Sky Tonight (12:00); Earth, Moon, and Sun (1:00); Dynamic Earth (2:00); Two Small Pieces of Glass (3:00).
Holiday (Nov. 24 to Dec. 28) – Accidental Astronaut (Sat. only, 11:00); Longest Night: A Winter’s Tale (12:00); Tales of the Maya Skies (1:00); NEW! Cosmic Colors (2:00); Seven Wonders (3:00); The Sky Tonight (4:00); Longest Night: A Winter’s Tale (7:00); Laser Trans-Siberian Orchestra (8:00).
Laser music shows begin at 7:00 unless otherwise noted: Sept. 14 – Classic Rock; Sept. 21 – Country; Sept. 28 – U2; Oct. 12 – Michael Jackson; Oct. 19 – Metallica; Oct. 26 and 31 – Fright Light: Halloween Special; Nov. 9 – Beatles; Nov. 16 – Classic Rock; Nov. 23 – 80’s Night; and Nov. 27 – with our NEW Laser Queen. During the holidays (Nov. 24 to Dec. 28), enjoy a special treat when the planetarium features our NEW Laser Trans-Siberian Orchestra program at 8:00.
The planetarium’s popular Stars at Sunset series will be presented at 7:00 on Sept. 7, Oct. 5, and Nov. 2. This live series explores “what’s up” in the Carolina night skies. Weather permitting,
telescope viewing after the program will be held outdoors. Special events at the planetarium include half-price shows until 5:00 on Oct. 5, as a give back to our Sunset at Sunset patrons. At 8:00 on Oct. 5, the planetarium will celebrate International Observe the Moon Night; this program is FREE.
Ingram Planetarium is located at 7625 High Market Street in Sunset Beach, NC. Admission is free for Planetarium members, dual Planetarium/Museum members, active military and disabled
veterans with valid military ID. Non-member per-show admission (including NC sales tax) is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors (62+), $7.50 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
