Ocean Isle Beach, NC – The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. would like to thank the approximately 250 visitors who supported the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium by attending the Holiday Night at the Museum/Festival of Trees fundraiser on November 29. Guests enjoyed food from the Dawg Wagon, Makai beer, wine, soft drinks, and live music as they strolled the museum’s galleries and admired and bid on the trees decorated by these local nonprofit organizations: Brunswick County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association, Ocean Isle Habitat Restore, Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization, Ocean Ridge Charities Organization, Paws-Ability, Brunswick County Literacy Council, Ocean Isle Property Owners Association, With My Sisters, Brunswick Environmental Action Team, South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club, and the Intracoastal Model Railroad Club.
A band called Opportunity Rocks provided live music for the event. The Opportunity Rocks band is composed of a group of talented local musicians whose mission is to donate their passion for classic rock music to charitable events. The band, based out of Ocean Ridge in Ocean Isle Beach, has provided its talents for organizations such as the Ocean Ridge Charities Association, the Museum of Coastal Carolina, and South Brunswick Newcomers. The band is scheduled to perform for the Grissettown- Longwood Fire Department spring fundraiser at Silver Coast Winery. Band members Laurie White, Karen Nelson, Dennis Covelli, Rob Edwards, Mike Lebkicker, Hugh Carano, Dale Hackman, Dave White, and Mike Maisel all appreciate the opportunity to perform and assist the community.
The Festival of Trees will be displayed at the Museum of Coastal Carolina through December 14. Decorated trees are bid on and each tree sponsor will receive the highest bid by visiting patrons.
