Halloween Candy Buy-Back Program
TREATS FOR OUR TROOPS
Children donating treats could win a sweet IPAD!
Bolivia, NC – October 18, 2018 – Local trick-or-treaters will join kids across the nation in donating their Halloween candy by bringing it to Coastal Pediatric Dentistry. The goodies will be shipped to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in care packages to U.S. Service Members deployed overseas in harm’s way and to First Responders serving at home.
Coastal Pediatric Dentistry will be “buying back” children’s Halloween candy and collecting handwritten letters or drawings to Service Members beginning on Halloween and continuing through the first week of November. Children will receive a small monetary buy-back by the pound for candy donated and all children (18 yrs and younger) donating will be entered to win an IPAD.
Dr. Cecilia Liu and Dr. Nichole Ramsbottom are proud to participate in the Operation Gratitude Halloween Buy-Back program to reduce excess sugar consumption, prevent dental decay, and reinforce for children the importance of saying “Thank You” to all who serve.
Americans spend an estimated $2.5 billion dollars on a whopping 600 million pounds of Halloween candy each year. In 2015 alone, 294 tons of that candy was sent to Operation Gratitude for distribution through its care package programs. Last year Coastal Pediatric Dentistry collected and donated over 180 lbs of candy!
Coastal Pediatric Dentistry and Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry are proud to participate in Operation Gratitude, Give Kids a Smile, Dentistry Form the Heart and Freedom Day programs supporting our children, community and service men & women.
