Sunset Beach, NC – On September 9 and 10, 2019, Ingram Planetarium and the Museum of Coastal Carolina were the host locations for the 2019 Carolina Association of Planetarium Educators (CAPE) Conference. Annually, CAPE meets at a planetarium within North or South Carolina to encourage one another in planetarium education through professional development sessions, meaningful conversations, and exchanges of resources. The conference went
incredibly well with the support of the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation staff, volunteers, and supporters and was positively received by all the attendees.
Later that same week, Ingram Planetarium was featured in a national professional development webinar through NISE Network that featured the methodology behind integrating NISE science education resources, typically designed more for small group interactions within museums and science centers, into interactive planetarium programs executed in full-dome theaters.
These two events topped off an exciting year that has also included continuing education opportunities for K-12 school-based educators.
