Wilmington, NC – Lower Cape Fear Hospice is offering a no-cost grief workshop for those who have lost a loved one to learn about creating a shadow box on Friday, Dec. 6 in Wilmington.
The Art of Remembrance workshop will offer ways to express memories and portray feelings through art. Step-by-step directions will be given to create and preserve memories of people, places and events that are part of your history with your loved one. The framed box will be a personal showcase. Objects to consider bringing include a scrapbook, paper or fabric, buttons, lace, ribbon, parts of jewelry, ticket stubs, a wedding invitation, a birth announcement, old letters, postcards, silk flowers, seashells, sea glass, an old key, dried clover, photographs, coins, charms, recipe cards or any meaningful object. A shadow box and art tools will be provided.
The workshop will be held Friday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. to noon, in the art room at the Phillips LifeCare and Counseling Center, 1414 Physicians Drive in Wilmington.
