Dinah Gore and John David
Brunswick Arts Council is pleased to announce Dinah Gore, three time winner of Brunswick Dancing with the Stars, with dance partner Paul McTaggart, Carolina Dance Partners owner, will open the dancing at the 4×4 Mini Masterpiece Gala, with a foxtrot played by the Brunswick Big Band, followed by a special announcement. Dinah has danced all her life – rhumba, charleston, two step, fox trot…she moves across the floor enjoying the artistry of movement…almost as if she is ”dancing on air.” Come celebrate the ARTs with us! It promises to be a great night of entertainment, full of old friends, and new friends – celebrate your life and support the arts!

We are pleased to recognize his efforts and support in making our communities strong and vibrant.
Sinatra Style Stardust of Nick Giannatasio
The musical notes that surround the gala are magical – just as the glint in the twinkle of the Ole Blue Eyes’ impersonator, that sprinkled love-dust on Rob and Dot Hoerr so many pizza pie moons ago. In fact, our Ole Blue Eyes was in the military and was best friends with the head of the unit, Rob Hoerr. After leaving the service, he and his buddy Rob stayed in touch for a while – even putting them up in his “club” in NYC where he was performing as they attended the show. Slowly life creeped in, the two friends drifted apart over the years loosing contact but each cherishing their memories of the friendship. Years later, Dot (now Executive Director of Brunswick Literacy Council) was recounting the story of her husband’s great friend, a wonderful singer who performed Sinatra music. As soon as Dot saw the posters of this 4×4 Gala, she knew she had a fantastic gift for her husband – she’d found his long lost friend! Dot and Rob plan to attend the event and catch up with Nick Giannatasio. What a better reunion than spending an evening aimed at bringing together folks interested in supporting the arts for a night of fine dining, dancing and, well, what else? Arts, of course.
Listen and dance to Nick … crooning Sinatra standards, with Tina Caruso, perfect for dining, dancing, visiting, silent auction, etc. Nick Giannatasio, as we’ve told you, is a professional musician, actor, entertainer in many venues including New York, New Jersey and for the last 20 years in Wilmington and Brunswick County. He is the guitarist and vocalist for the Brunswick Big Band; and those familiar with the local theater companies Nick has appeared as the Cowardly Lion, Professor Harold Hill in the Music Man and as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. His quintet, The Nick Michaels Group, will open up the Bellamy Jazz Festival in Wilmington.
