Lake Waccamaw State Park showcases one of the most unique bodies of water in the world and one of the most intriguing geological mysteries—the phenomenon of Carolina Bays that features species of aquatic life found nowhere else. Lake Waccamaw showcases over seven miles of trails that allow you to explore and discover the multiple ecosystems and rare plants.
During this program one of Lake Waccamaw’s park rangers will explain the mysterious formations and will also explain why Lake Wacccamaw is a one of a kind Carolina Bay that is unique from all the other area Bays in the surrounding area.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Admission to the museum is free for members, active duty military and disabled veterans plus up to one guest, must include military ID cardholder.
