Ocean Isle Beach, NC – Planetarium Manager, Katherine Hunt, steps out of the stars for the Sand Bar Lecture series at The Museum of Coastal Carolina to promote this year’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the first man on the moon. In this talk, Kat will discuss the political factors that were a driving force in the Space Race that would help catapult the United States to the moon, before contrasting how global collaboration drives space exploration in modern times. This event will be held on June 18 th at 6 pm. There will also be a family friendly full dome program offered at Ingram Planetarium this summer at 12:00 noon Monday – Thursday and Saturday.
The Sandbar Lecture Series is sponsored in-part by OIB Surf and Java providing coffee to all who attend. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Admission to the museum is free for members, active duty military and disabled veterans plus up to one guest, must include military ID cardholder.
