WHQR Announces End-Of-Year One Day Pledge Drive & Partnership with The Alliance for Cape Fear Trees and the NC Division of the Society of American Foresters on December 13, 2018 – All Partnering to Return Beautiful Trees to Our Community
WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA – WHQR Public Media will hold a one-day on-air fundraiser on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
In the holiday spirit of giving, WHQR is partnering with The Alliance for Cape Fear Trees for this year-end pledge drive. Their mission is to preserve, protect, and plant trees to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations. Hurricane Florence destroyed tens of thousands of trees and this partnership will result in the replanting of hundreds of these lost trees.
For every pledge made to WHQR by phone or online on December 13th, the NC Chapter of the Society of American Foresters will make a donation to the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees to purchase and replant trees to replace those lost in Hurricane Florence.
WHQR will also be giving away a Home Smart Speaker Package as the December One-Day Sweepstakes Prize.
WHQR’s One-Day Pledge Drive would not be possible without the help of volunteers and local businesses. This type of community support, along with financial donations, is vital to our survival.
