About the Show:
In her exhibition “Have a Heart: SkyWatch,” artist Loulie Scharf depicts beautiful birds in mixed media creations that meld collage and painting. Her bright colors against assorted textures evoke whimsy while inviting the onlooker to step closer to examine the finer details. Scharf uses her art as a way to raise funds and awareness for animals, and for this particular show Scharf plans to donate half of the artist’s proceeds to SkyWatch Bird Rescue. From the smallest hummingbird to the giant pelican, no bird in need is ever turned away at SkyWatch. Birds receive medical care, food, safety, and rehabilitation until they can be placed in protected sanctuaries or returned back to the wild for “a chance to soar once more”
