WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA – At WHQR’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 27, 2019 five new members were elected to the Friends of Public Radio, Inc.’s Board of Directors.
The new members are Andre Brown, an attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Wilmington Office; Joseph Conway, Director of Health Equity and Human Experience at New Hanover Regional Medical Center; Samantha Dooies, administrative assistant to District Attorney Ben David; Kelly Luckhaus, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones; John Scherer, General Counsel at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
They join current board members Jeff Barnes (Chair), Kathleen Berkeley (Vice Chair), Tim Costello, Brenda Esch (Secretary), Christopher Fikry, Stephen Fortlouis (Treasurer), Doc Jarden, Jon McLamb, Nicolas Montoya, Kristine Moore, Robert Waxman and Rob Zapple.
Retiring from the board are Hannah Dela Cruz Abrams, Wiley Cash, Fran Scarlett, JC Smith, and Geneva Reid.
