South Brunswick Business

Development Committee

The South Brunswick Business Development Committee is a 501(c)3 Foundation that works to facilitate and fund activities by the ends of the South Brunswick Islands business community in coordination with the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and the towns that make up the South Brunswick Islands. The Foundation Board Members are firmly committed to carrying out a thoughtful plan of work that supports existing businesses and nurtures growth and new local investment in our South Brunswick Islands communities.

The SBBDC has championed infrastructure improvements, such as the extension of Highway 31 in Myrtle Beach into Brunswick County. We have invested in Building Brunswick Business, a one-stop, interactive, online portal which houses economic, workforce, education, and demographic data for Brunswick County, as well as the five-county region of Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender Counties in North Carolina and Horry County, South Carolina.

Most recently, we began hosting the BrunscoBiz Breakfast Series, an ongoing networking opportunity open to the public. This series has attracted interest from outside the South Brunswick Islands communities, including Little River, North Myrtle Beach, and Loris in South Carolina.

The South Brunswick Business Development Committee is a volunteer committee of members elected by the committee or designated as representatives of the Brunswick County Chamber Board of Directors. The President of the Brunswick County Chamber serves as the designated staff person for the committee and is compensated by the committee based on the number of hours dedicated to committee business. The Foundation welcomes community interest in Board Membership for consideration by the Board as positions become available.
