Our Chamber Ambassadors will meet October 6 for their monthly meeting at the Chamber office. These meetings give our Ambassadors time to reconnect and talk about what’s happening throughout our Chamber community. NC Oyster Festival
Mark your calendars! The 45th Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival returns to Ocean Isle Beach, October 16–18, 2026, for another unforgettable weekend of live music, delicious food, shopping, family activities, and community fun. The weekend kicks off with Community Night on Friday, October 16, from 6:00–8:00 PM, featuring live music by The Sea Cruz Band.
As we prepare for one of Brunswick County’s largest annual events, there are several ways to get involved. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help throughout the festival, and businesses are invited to become Banner Sponsors, giving their brand high-visibility exposure to thousands of festival attendees while supporting this long-standing community tradition.

A new class of local leaders has begun its nine-month Leadership Brunswick County journey. The program kicked off with Orientation, where participants were introduced to the year ahead and took part in leadership training with Walter Finnigan of LEAF Advising, a John Maxwell Team member.
Leadership Brunswick County is a collaborative program of the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, and Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center. Over the coming months, participants will experience Brunswick County from new perspectives while building relationships, strengthening their leadership skills, and gaining a deeper understanding of the communities they serve.
Congratulations to the Leadership Brunswick County Class of 2026–2027! We’re excited to follow their journey over the next nine months.
Brunswick Education & Workforce Collaborative
The Brunswick Education & Workforce Collaborative (BEWC) is bringing Brunswick County Schools, our local Chambers, businesses, and community partners together to strengthen connections between education and workforce development in Brunswick County.
The Collaborative is focusing on opportunities to connect students with our local business community, including internships and Work-Based Learning, while helping businesses better understand the programs and resources available through Brunswick County Schools.
As part of that connection with our schools, we’re also sharing information about the 2026 Brunswick County Schools Bond Referendum. Brunswick County Schools has created a resource where residents can review the bond proposal, FAQs, project information, and other details before the November 3 referendum.

Suds of Love Donation Drop-Off
The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce is now a designated, ongoing donation drop-off location for Suds of Love Truck, a local nonprofit providing free laundry services, showers, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities to unhoused and underserved neighbors throughout our community.
With school back in session, Suds of Love is seeing an increased need for everyday essentials. If you’re able to add an item or two to your next shopping trip, every donation can make a difference.
Items Being Collected:
Laundry detergent • Dryer sheets • Towels & washcloths • Full-size body wash • Full-size shampoo & conditioner • Toothpaste & toothbrushes • Full-size deodorant • Full-size lotion • Feminine hygiene products (panty liners & pads) • New socks

The 45th Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival returns to Ocean Isle Beach, October 16–18, 2026, for another unforgettable weekend of live music, delicious food, shopping, family activities, and community fun. The weekend kicks off with Community Night on Friday, October 16, from 6:00–8:00 PM, featuring live music by The Sea Cruz Band.
As we prepare for one of Brunswick County’s largest annual events, there are several ways to get involved. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help throughout the festival, and businesses are invited to become Banner Sponsors, giving their brand high-visibility exposure to thousands of festival attendees while supporting this long-standing community tradition.

There are still several ways to get involved. We’re currently looking for volunteers to help throughout the day and are also accepting raffle prize donations for our popular Putting Challenge, sponsored by Edward Jones – Jeremy Johnson. Suggested donations include gift baskets, gift cards, golf accessories, experience packages, or other items valued at $75 or more.
Businesses that donate raffle prizes will be recognized for their support, and every contribution helps create a memorable tournament while supporting the Chamber and our local business community.

Start your Tuesday morning with us on August 18 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM as we celebrate the Grand Opening of Lilly Bird’s Creamery with an official Ribbon Cutting. Join us at 4810 Main St. in Shallotte to meet the team and help us give this new local business a warm Brunswick County welcome. We have a feeling it’ll be a pretty sweet way to start the day!
Then on Thursday, August 20, we’re heading to Silver Coast Winery for Business After Hours from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Join us at 6680 Barbeque Rd NW in Ocean Isle Beach for a relaxed evening of conversation, new connections, and time with fellow members of our business community.

Meet Jill Lawrence, Marketing Coordinator at FOCUS Broadband and a valued member of the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Jill is passionate about connecting people, businesses, and communities. In her role at FOCUS Broadband, she develops marketing campaigns for Business Solutions and Commercial Security & Surveillance, using thoughtful strategy and creative ideas to help businesses grow and thrive.
As a Chamber Board member, Jill is committed to connecting local businesses with the resources, relationships, and opportunities the Chamber provides while helping them learn how FOCUS Broadband’s Business Solutions can support their success.
Originally from Long Island, Jill earned her bachelor’s degree in Professional Tennis Management from Methodist University, where she was a four-year member of the Monarchs tennis team. After moving to Brunswick County with her family in 2020, they quickly knew they had found the perfect place to call home. Since then, she has enjoyed building meaningful relationships, becoming more involved in the community, and supporting the local businesses that make Brunswick County such a great place to live and work.
Jill is currently pursuing her graduate degree, expanding her knowledge of business, technology, and customer experience. Outside of work and school, she enjoys exploring Brunswick County and discovering new local restaurants.
